David Nast

Director | President | CEO

David Nast is a Founding Director of Progress Bank and has served as President and CEO since the bank opened in 2008. 

He holds B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Jacksonville State University, as well as banking certificates from the Louisiana State University Banking School of the South and Georgia State University’s Leadership Institute. He also holds the Series 7, Series 66 and Series 24 securities licenses.

Nast has served on the board for Junior Achievement, The Land Trust of Huntsville/Madison County, Boys and Girls Club of Huntsville, North Alabama Boy Scouts, Huntsville Hospital Foundation (Past Chair), the Committee of 100 and the Huntsville City Schools Foundation. He is an alumnus of Leadership Huntsville Class 10 and Leadership Alabama Class 20.

Nast is currently a member of the Huntsville Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow. He serves on the Alabama Bankers Association Board (Past Chair) and the Huntsville Sports Commission (Past Chair). He also serves as a board member of Leadership Alabama (Current Chair) and the Huntsville Museum of Art (Past Chairman). Nast was appointed to a three year term to the Federal Reserve Board of Atlanta, Birmingham Branch in January of 2019. He and his wife Lee live in Huntsville, Ala. and have four children and five grandchildren. Nast is an avid endurance runner and enjoys fishing and golf in his spare time. 

 

J.E.P. Buchanan

J.E.P. Buchanan has more than 30 years of banking experience in Huntsville primarily in commercial lending and credit quality of banks' commercial loan portfolios.

Buchanan received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Auburn University. He is a past president and treasurer of the Huntsville Eastern League board, past board member of the United Way agency L.I.F.T., along with the Monte Sano Civic Association and Monte Sano Club. Buchanan is a member of the Huntsville Rotary, and was a member of Class 19 of the Huntsville-Madison County Leadership Huntsville.

 

Lee R. Hoekenschnieder

Director | Huntsville Market President | General Banking Executive

Lee Hoekenschnieder began his banking career more than 40 years ago and has held senior leadership positions in several areas of banking for AmSouth Bank. He attended the University of Alabama and UAH, as well as the School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University and Canon Trust School at Pepperdine University. He has his Series 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses.

Hoekenschnieder has been active in the Huntsville community and has held leadership positions in numerous civic organizations. Currently, Hoekenschnieder is Treasurer of FirstCommunity Health, Past President of the Rotary Club of Huntsville, Past President of the Madison County Veterans Memorial Foundation, Chairman of the Board of Directors for Biztech, Board Member for the Committee of 100 and Past Chair of Creative Cities, Chairman Emeritus of the Huntsville Hospital Foundation, and member of the Professional Advisors Council of the HudsonAlpha Foundation.

 

Dabsey Maxwell

CFO | COO

Dabsey Maxwell has extensive experience in financial management within a large holding company, a corporate turnaround team and auditing of commercial banks.

Maxwell holds a Bachelor of Science with Highest Honors in Business Administration, specializing in Accounting from Auburn University. She currently holds her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license. Maxwell has served as a final round judge for the Harbert College of Business Tiger Cage Competition for the past three years. She was a member of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County Focus Class 20 and Leadership Huntsville/Madison County Class 23. Maxwell later went on to serve on the Leadership Madison County Board of Directors. She was an appointed member of the Alabama Space Science Exhibit Commission Board for the Space & Rocket Center, where she served for a number of years. Maxwell also served on the Huntsville Museum of Art Foundation Board for many years, serving as the board president for two terms. In addition, she served as the Chair of the Arts for the Randolph School Community Network for several years. Maxwell has had an integral role launching start-up companies throughout her career, with Progress being her latest beginning 13 years ago.

 

Stuart Tubb

Decatur Market President

Stuart Tubb is a Decatur native and has deep roots in the local community. He is a graduate from the University of North Alabama with both a Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Business Administration.

Tubb spent 13 years with a large regional bank where he began his career in the bank’s Management Associate Training Program, later transitioning to Credit Analyst before becoming Senior Vice President in the Commercial Banking Group. Tubb currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of North Alabama, the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce, the Decatur Morgan Hospital Foundation and the Princess Theatre Center for the Performing Arts. He is also Treasurer of the Decatur Dixie Youth Baseball League. In addition, he has previously served on the Limestone Economic Development Board.

 

Andy Mann

Shoals Market President

Andy Mann is a native of Florence, Alabama and serves as President of Progress Bank in the Shoals Area. His 25+ year banking career includes corporate lending, private banking and senior management roles for community and regional banks. Mann graduated with a B.S. in Finance from the University of North Alabama.

Mann has been actively involved in the community across North Alabama serving on past boards for the Shoals Economic Development Authority, Scottsboro Industrial Development Board, Jackson County Chamber of Commerce (Chairman), Downtown Florence Unlimited and Scottsboro Rotary Club (President). He is a graduate of Leadership Shoals and Leadership Alabama Class XXV. 

Mann is a member of the Florence Rotary Club (President), University of North Alabama College of Business Advisory Council (Past-Chairman), and on the Board of Directors for Tennessee Valley Art Foundation, Northwest Alabama Council of Local Governments, Helen Keller Hospital and the Shoals Chamber of Commerce (past Chairman).

 

Beth B. Richardson

Madison Market President

Beth B. Richardson began her banking career in Huntsville more than 18 years ago with experience in consumer/retail banking, business banking, private banking, regional management and most recently, Madison Market President for Progress Bank.

She studied at Tuskegee University, Webster University, Huntsville Bible College, and Alabama School of Banking in Mobile. Through these institutions, she holds several degrees: B.S. in Marketing: B.A. in Theology: M.B.A.; Master's in Ministry. Richardson is active in the Huntsville and Madison communities through her involvement on the boards for Madison Hospital, Huntsville Hospital Healthcare Authority Board, Committee of 100, Huntsville/Madison County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Huntsville Botanical Garden, Huntsville Hospital Foundation and the Madison Police Foundation. She was a member of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County Class 21 and Leadership Alabama Class 20.

 

Sean Johnson

Birmingham Market President

Sean has a 24 year career spanning numerous banking and investment roles in the Birmingham, Montgomery, Tuscaloosa and Nashville areas, as area president, regional sales manager, retail executive, and city president.

Johnson holds a B.S. in Management from Auburn University, as well as the Series 6, 63, 65, 53, 7, and 24 licenses. He is active in a variety of organizations including River Region United Way, Business in the Arts Council, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, Museum of Natural History, Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce, Birmingham Business Alliance, Vestavia Hills Youth Baseball, Vestavia Hills Youth Soccer and Newcomen Society. He was also active with the Leadership Committee of 100 (Montgomery), Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce, United Way, Rotary Club and American Cancer Society.

 

Dewayne Youngblood

Florida Market Executive

Dewayne Youngblood serves as Market President of the Okaloosa & Walton County Markets. He began his banking career over 17 years ago with management experience in business banking, community banking, commercial and industrial banking within the local area. He is a graduate of Troy State University in Business Administration.

As a native of Walton County, Florida, Dewayne is involved in the local community through volunteer service in professional, civic and charitable activities. His current and previous community service includes current Board Member for Sacred Heart Hospital, past President of the Northwest Florida State College Foundation Board, past President of the Walton County Economic Development Council, past Board Member for the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce, past Board Member of the All Sports Association and various other roles.

 

Mike Rogers

Baldwin County Market President

Mike Rogers graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing. He has over 28 years of experience in banking and financial services in various roles in business banking to private banking. He also holds the Series 7, Series 66 securities licenses, and Life/Health Insurance licenses.

Community involvement has been integral in his career, serving in various roles with the Emerald Coast Sertoma, Baldwin County Heritage Museum, Spanish Fort Sports Association and Gulf Coast Conversation Association. He and his wife, Tina, have five children and reside in Spanish Fort.

 

Brad Hayes

Tuscaloosa Market President

Brad Hayes, a University of Alabama graduate, has 17 years of experience in banking in various roles ranging from branch management to commercial banking throughout central Alabama. Community involvement has also been an important part of his career, serving on the board for Junior Achievement, supporting the United Way and Kulture City, and teaching financial literacy at K12, the University of Alabama and Samford. 

Brad and his wife, Thao, have been married for 23 years and have two college-age children both studying dentistry.

 

Lane Redding

South Walton & Bay County Market President

Lane Redding graduated from Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration and then went on to graduate from Eastern New Mexico University with her Master of Business Administration. She has more than 12 years of banking experience from major institutions in New Mexico, Texas and Northwest Florida, where her roles primarily involved the areas of credit analysis and commercial banking.

Active in the local community, Lane serves on the board for the Walton Area Chamber of Commerce and is the chair-elect for the Destin Charity Wine Auction. She is also a member of the Destin Rotary Club. Lane was awarded “Best in Destin: Best Banker” by VIP Destin Magazine in 2021 and 2022, named “40 Under 40” by United Way Emerald Coast in 2021, and was also named “Woman of the Year in Banking” by Scarlett Magazine in 2022.

Lane currently resides in Santa Rosa Beach with her husband, Trevor, and their two sons.
