David Nast


David Nast serves as president and CEO for the bank and has served on the Board of Directors since its inception.

From 1982 until 2006, Nast worked in various capacities for AmSouth Bank in Birmingham and Huntsville, including management trainee, branch manager, vice president/branch administration, senior vice president/consumer banking manager, senior vice president/business banking sales manager, senior vice president/regional director of mortgage lending and senior vice president/regional sales manager for AmSouth Investment Services, Inc.

Nast began organizing Progress Bank in 2007 and has served as president and CEO since the bank opened in 2008.

He holds B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Jacksonville State University, as well as banking certificates from the Louisiana State University Banking School of the South and Georgia State University’s Leadership Institute. He also holds the Series 7, Series 66 and Series 24 securities licenses.

Nast’s involvement in the community includes serving on past boards for Junior Achievement, The Land Trust of Huntsville/Madison County, Boys and Girls Club of Huntsville, North Alabama Boys Scouts Council, Huntsville City Schools Foundation, Huntsville Country Club, Huntsville High School Booster Club and the Huntsville Hospital Development Council. He is an alumnus of Leadership Huntsville Class 10 and Leadership Alabama Class 20.

Nast is currently a member of the Huntsville Rotary Club where he is a Paul Harris Fellow. He serves as Chairman of the Huntsville Hospital Foundation and the Huntsville Sports Commission. He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Huntsville Museum of Art, Leadership Alabama, Committee of 100 and the Alabama Bankers Association.
