Larry is an attorney with Wilmer & Lee, P.A., in Decatur, practicing in tax law, trusts and estates, probate, commercial transactions, corporations and real estate.
Larry holds a BS degree in accounting from The University of Alabama; a JD degree from Cumberland School of Law, Samford University; and an LLM degree in taxation from The University of Alabama School of Law. He has been admitted to the Alabama bar and to practice before the US Tax Court, the US Claims Court, the US District Court, the Northern and Southern Districts of Alabama, and the US Supreme Court.
Larry is a member of the Morgan County and American Bar Associations (Taxation and Probate and Property Sections), the Alabama State Bar, and the National Counsel of Farmers Cooperatives (Legal Tax Accounting Committee). He is also a member of Phi Delta Phi and was Vice President 1976-1977.
Larry serves as chairman of the District Trustees of the United Methodist Church and as chairman of the Staff-Parrish Committee of First United Methodist Church in Decatur. Larry is a member of the Decatur Rotary Club, serving on the board of directors for the Rotary Club Foundation. He is also a member of the Morgan County Treasure Forest Association where is serves as treasurer.
Larry’s interests include a timber farm as well as tennis, golf, canoeing, hiking and skiing.
Larry is married to Leslie, a retired teacher of the hearing impaired, and has two daughters, Elizabeth and Caroline, both of whom graduated from The University of Alabama with degrees in nursing and special education, respectively.
