Bhavani Kakani
Bhavani Kakani has served on the Board of Directors of the Bank since its inception. Mrs. Kakani is President of the AshaKiran, A Ray of Hope and is the immediate Past Board Chair of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County. She is an advocate of better health for all persons and currently serves on the Healthcare Authority of the City of Huntsville, Huntsville Hospital Foundation, Alabama Council of Hospital Trustees and The Statewide Health Coordinating Council boards. She also served in leadership roles with the Madison County Medical Alliance (President), Alliance to the Medical Society of the State of Alabama (President), Southern Medical Association Alliance, Alliance to the American Medical Association, National Children’s Advocacy Center (Board President) and Hospice. She believes in providing a greater chance in improving quality of life through education. She has been a mentor for Women’s Economic Development Council Foundation for more than seven years and is on UAH Foundation Board and Alabama Space Education Commission. She was an active member of the Randolph School, Women’s Business Center of North Alabama and Women’s Economic Development Council Foundation boards. Mrs. Kakani is a community supporter and volunteer. She served on boards of Botanical Garden, Huntsville India Association, Huntsville Telugu Association (President), Women’s Guild of the Huntsville Museum of Art (President), The Symphony Guild, The Arts Council, chaired the United Way Professional Division Campaign and was a Co-Chair of Legacy of Huntsville Bicentennial Celebration Committee. Mrs. Kakani holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance, summa cum laude, and a Master of Administrative Science in Business Administration and Finance from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She has been married for [forty-six (46)] years to Dr. Rao Kakani, General and Vascular Surgeon, and the couple has three children and two grandchildren.
